New Year, New Diagnosis's?

Welcome back!

What a start to the new year it has been!! Yesterday was "Blue Monday" which I think it is so unfair that the media  are preying on people to sale shop due to most of us feeling more down than usual due to the cold weather, Christmas spending, and sticking to various New Years resolutions...

For me personally, the start of this year has been tough, really tough, it started on the 2nd January, with my first appointment of the year which I was given the results of my MRI a few months prior - it was confirmed by my doctor that I have paradoxical contraction and my evacuation dynamics are abnormal. Getting a new diagnosis after so many comes with such an array of emotions - you're pleased doctors have answers and therefore another step to move forward, yet it is also so sad watching a series of scans of your body and having the doctor show you the correlation, and explain that as a person I am doing everything "right" and it is a matter of retraining my body through a new bowel clinic..

The following week I had another emptying study, and spend nine hours under a machine listening to podcasts whilst having many pen "crosses" drawn onto me!

How are you? How has the start of your new year been?
